
- Follow your doctor’s instructions exactly as to when & how
- If your medication can be refrigerated, the cold will help you to know where the drop landed
- Wash your hands before and after. Shake the bottle. Do not touch the dropper tip after removing the cap
- Tilt your head back, look up, use one hand to lower the eyelid down (away from the eye) to form a pocket below the eye
- Squeeze the bottle gently and let one drop fall into the pocket
- Close your eyes … Do not blink!
- Apply gentle pressure to your tear ducts (near your nose) and hold for a minute or two until the medication is absorbed into your eye (instead of draining into your nose)
- If any drops leak out, use a tissue to wipe them from your closed eyelids
